Otunba Bamidele Akingboye

A Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye has tasked Muslims in Nigeria to use the occasion of Ramadan fasting season to pray for peace, prosperity and unity in Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by his Press Secretary, Oyeniyi Iwakun where he asked Muslims to imbibe the culture of love, tolerance and have respect for one another, just as it is required of them to remain holy throughout the fasting period.

He described the Holy month of Ramadan as one full of grace, which has created a unique opportunity to make supplications to Allah.

While explaining the good virtues imbedded in Islamic religion and Muslim faithfuls, Akingboye affirmed that Islam has brought succor to the world through its teachings, with clear emphasis on promoting unity among people of diverse cultures, status and economic background.

He said “The Holy month of Ramadan is sacred, fills with opportunities to ask certain things from Allah and receive immediate answers. What Islam has brought to bear and its contributions towards uniting the nation against evil perpetrators and saboteurs of different kinds cannot be overemphasized.

” The religion is noted for peace, and breaching the gap between the high and low within the society, in its effort to building and sustaining human capacity development.”

Akingboye urged Muslim faithfuls to remember the country, her numerous challenges in their prayers to Allah during Ramadan.

Using Muslims in Ondo State as point of contact, he prayed against religious war in Nigeria and implored them to live according to the teachings of Holy Qu’ran.
