A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the 2020 election in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye has said the mantle of government should be handled by an individual with a business experience.

Akingboye who declared his ambition to contest for the upcoming gubernatorial election during a meeting with the Forum of PDP House of Assembly candidates at the weekend, noted that someone that has the knowledge of Commerce ought to occupy the position of the governor in order to attract investors to the state.


He assured of his competence to convert a civil service state to the one that would generate between 10-30billions naira revenue monthly.


Akingboye further said if elected as the governor, he can make about 200millionaires from each Local government area of the state with his business expertise.


He noted that Ondo state has the longest coastline which can bring enormous fortune to the state if developed.
Akingboye sympathised with them over their loss and appealed to them not to relent in sustaining the party in their respective constituency.


“Politics is like a game, you win, you lose. We are going to work on our lapses, I feel bad but we will learn from our past mistakes and definitely it will never happen again”. He said.


He assured of his readiness to support the outcome of the primary if another aspirant was preferred over him by the majority as far as it was based on merit.


The coordinator of the forum, Mr. Lade Fasua from Akure South Constituency 1 and Mr. Ofakurin of Akure North constituency both appealed to aspirants to ensure they accept primary election result and work with the elected candidate in other not to affect the chance of the party during the election.
