2018 VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE :ONDO SPIKERS ROAR FOR A SPIKE .

As Nigeria sets to experience her first volleyball league ever this year,specifically in the month of April, Ondo State volleyball team ONDO SPIKERS are intensifying to emerge champions and retain its top position as number one team in Nigeria.

The league is a new innovation which was hatched during the stakeholders meeting early this year to give volleyball a face lift in the country.

To this end,all state volleyball teams in the country have been issued a circular under the leadership of its President,Engineer Musa Nimrod for full participation.

According to Nimrod, the circular registration of teams in the country has commenced while the competition will start next month and end in August 2018.

In an interaction with Ondo state volleyball coach Adeniyi Adekalu,he applauded the innovation saying it will keep the players busy and allow quality selection of players to represent the country.

Meanwhile,Adekalu is not happy with the level of preparation at home saying they are yet to register the required fifteen players and there is no adequate transportation arrangement;calling on stakeholders in Ondo state and beyond to assist the team to achieve its aim of winning the league.

Ondo State volleyball team can boast of six national players that have represented Nigeria in Mali in 2009,2011 in Egypt and 2016 in Congo.

The winners of the 2018 volleyball league will get ten million Naira while the first three teams would represent Nigeria automatically in international competitions.
